On a 55 degree day in December a couple years ago, I woke up early to play Pickleball at Miriam Brown Rec. center. On the way there, God Spoke to me to look to the right out my car window. Beautiful morning sun was softly diffused through low fog as it gathered on the water at Shem creek. The familiar view from the Coleman blvd bridge looking south is always a delight and every time I pass over the bridge I can't help but look down at the scene with boats and market umbrellas and I remember how much fun it is dining on Shem Creek...and maybe a cocktail or two. On this day , I was compelled to turn off, park, and walk down photographing the light. I spent about an hour ( late for pickleball open play) but garnerd a collection of spectacular reference photos for future paintings . Here is one of them, There will be more including: "December 28"  , " Dreamland 3" , "Shem 4 ", "Shrimper's Reflect" , and "Shem reds Soft".

Like Georgetown , Beaufort, Bluffton or Hilton Head, the marinas and restaurants by the water, the boats tied up at the dock and the beautiful light make inspiration for art that makes me glad to be alive. It is my hope that this brings joy to you too. We all need a little more joy.
