Coastal Escape landscape painter Patrick Reid O'Brien knows how special life is by the water. He grew up on the Chesapeake Bay sailing at age of 4, a Sea Snark (Think: a fully unsinkable but swampable bathtub made of cooler styrofoam with a mast and lateen style sunfish sail) , Sailfish, Sunfish, Lasers , Lightnings, and 420s, a Hobie 14 , then 16 , then a Prindle19, and later his father's Alberg and Pearson and at St Mary's college of MD, , windsurfing was the rage. Since he was 2, Patrick's family would travel to Ocean City for family vacation, connecting generations in folding chairs along the atlantic coast. As he grew and traveled, the coast was always magnetic and a must have for any vacation destination. Summers would find his extended family of cousins and grandparents at Ocean City MD with it's sparkling morning light over the cool Atlantic ocean. He infuses the excitement of fond memories of summer vacations on the coast with friends and family to share joy and inspiring us with special places we love. . In 2020 he and his wife Valerie moved to Charleston to discover the low country coastal lifestyle and paint in the fantastic light of the South Carolina coast.
